Typical Weight: Males can weigh between 75 to 110 pounds
Horn Size: 16" to 21" are typical horn sizes for mature blackbuck. At CCR, we also have limited Presidents Club Level Blackbuck - 22/23 inches+
Hunting Season: Throughout the year.
Unique Attributes of Males:

Impressive Spiral Horns: Blackbuck males boast striking, spiral-shaped horns that can grow up to 28 inches (71 centimeters) long.

Black and White Coat: Adult males exhibit a striking contrast of black and white fur, with the upper body being dark brown to black and the underparts white.

Pronounced White Eye Ring: Males have a distinctive white ring around their eyes, adding to their distinctive appearance.

The male blackbucks darken in winter, but only the most dominant and aggressive males remain black in the summer. The less aggressive bucks darken up somewhat in the winter, and then fade back to tan in summer.
Mating Season: Blackbucks have a distinct rutting season that typically occurs in spring and fall, between October and February, when males compete for dominance and breeding rights. A “tuxedo buck” is often the dominant male in the area, as a male becomes more dominant he will transition from a light tan to a dark black.
